Conflicts of Interest and Submissions by Editorial Members

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Members of the editorial board, including the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors, are not prohibited from submitting their own manuscripts to Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada. However, to safeguard the integrity of the peer review process and to avoid any actual or perceived conflict of interest, the following procedures are strictly enforced: 1. Mandatory Recusal: Any editor who submits a manuscript to this journal must immediately declare this to the editorial office and must fully recuse themselves from all editorial decisions related to their manuscript, including reviewer selection, handling, and final acceptance or rejection decisions. 2. Independent Handling: The submitted manuscript will be assigned to another editor or a designated independent handling editor who has no conflict of interest with the submitting author. The submitting editor will have no access to the manuscript's review records, reviewer identities, or editorial correspondence. 3. Independent Peer Review: The manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent external reviewers selected solely by the handling editor, entirely outside the submitting editor's knowledge or influence. 4. Transparency at Publication: Upon acceptance, the published article will include a statement disclosing that the corresponding author is a member of the editorial board of Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada, and that the manuscript was managed independently in accordance with COPE guidelines. 5. Declaration of Competing Interests. All authors, including editorial board members, are required to complete an ICMJE-standard Conflict of Interest disclosure form at the time of submission. This declaration will be published alongside the article.
