Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada supports responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools—particularly generative AI—to enhance language quality and readability, provided that human supervision remains mandatory. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and completeness of the manuscript, including the verification of factual statements, interpretations, and citations.

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada does not recognize Large Language Models (LLMs)—such as ChatGPT—or any AI tool as authors or co-authors. Therefore, AI tools must not be listed as authors. If an LLM or other AI tool is used at any stage of manuscript preparation (e.g., language editing, restructuring text, summarizing, or assisting with drafting), the authors are required to clearly and transparently disclose the extent and purpose of AI use. This disclosure should be stated in the Methods section or another appropriate part of the manuscript (e.g., Declarations or Acknowledgements), ensuring transparency and accountability in line with ethical publishing standards.

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada does not permit AI-generated images or videos for publication due to unresolved legal and research integrity concerns. Exceptions may apply only to (1) images produced by contracted agencies under clear licensing and accountability, or (2) images explicitly used and cited within AI-focused scholarly pieces where their provenance and purpose are fully described. Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Sandi Husada reserves the right to request clarification regarding AI use, and manuscripts may be returned for revision if AI-related disclosures are incomplete, unclear, or inconsistent with journal policy.
