4. Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the community service activity, target population, and primary objective. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

Abstract

The abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, implementation, main outcomes, and conclusions.

Keywords: Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the manuscript.

Introduction

The introduction should explain the community's problems, needs, and characteristics, supported by relevant evidence and previous studies. It should identify the rationale for the programme, the existing practice or knowledge gap, and the objectives of the community service initiative.

Methods

The Methods section must clearly describe:

  • Location, implementation period, and target community.

  • Participant selection and characteristics.

  • Community engagement or empowerment approach.

  • Programme design, activities, and implementation stages.

  • Educational materials, technologies, or intervention tools.

  • Community participation and stakeholder involvement.

  • Monitoring, evaluation methods, and outcome indicators.

  • Ethical considerations and informed consent, where applicable.

Methods should be sufficiently detailed to support transparency, reproducibility, and adaptation in other community settings.

Results and Discussion

This section should present the implementation process, participant engagement, programme achievements, and evaluation findings.

Results should be supported by relevant evidence, such as attendance records, observations, pre- and post-activity assessments, participant feedback, or documented changes in knowledge, skills, practices, or community capacity.

The discussion should critically interpret the findings, compare them with relevant literature, explain practical implications, and identify programme limitations and sustainability considerations.

Authors must distinguish observed outcomes from interpretations and avoid unsupported causal claims.

Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the programme objectives, summarise the principal achievements, and highlight contributions to community empowerment. Practical recommendations and opportunities for programme sustainability or further implementation should be included.

Acknowledgements

Authors should acknowledge individuals, institutions, community partners, and funding organisations that supported the programme but do not meet authorship criteria.

Declaration of Generative AI Use

Authors must disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation, including the name of the tool and its purpose. Authors remain fully responsible for verifying the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted content.

5. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be relevant, clearly labelled, and referenced in the manuscript.

  • Tables should have descriptive titles above them.

  • Figures should have informative captions below them.

  • Photographs should be of sufficient resolution for publication, preferably at least 300 dpi.

  • Images must respect participant privacy and consent requirements.

  • Authors must obtain permission to reproduce copyrighted materials.

All manuscripts must comply with internationally recognised principles of publication ethics, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, inappropriate authorship, and unethical research practices are prohibited.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned for revision or rejected. Editorial assessment also considers the nature and context of textual similarities.

8. Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening followed by independent peer review in accordance with the journal's review policy.

Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
