Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

JIPPM: Jurnal Inovasi dan Pelayanan Publik Makassar is a scholarly, peer-reviewed academic journal published periodically. All manuscripts submitted to JIPPM are subject to a rigorous editorial and peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Upon submission, manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial board to assess their suitability, originality, and compliance with the journal’s aims, scope, and author guidelines. Manuscripts that pass this initial assessment proceed to a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure impartial and objective evaluation.

Each manuscript is typically reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in health policy analysis or related fields. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations, which are discussed by the editorial board during editorial deliberations.

Based on reviewers’ reports, the editorial board may request revisions from the corresponding author. Revised manuscripts are subject to further evaluation and may undergo a second round of peer review by the original or additional reviewers to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.

The average turnaround time for the peer review process is approximately 2–8 weeks, while the minimum time required for the publication process, including revisions and editorial processing, ranges from 2–24 weeks.

In accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and policies, manuscripts under review by JIPPM must not be submitted to or published in any other journal during the review process. Final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection rest with the editorial board, whose decisions are based on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal.
